An online application is not available
Patients from Somalia are not eligible for the India e-Visa and must apply for a regular medical visa.
Somalia is not on the Government of India e-Visa eligibility list, so an online application is not possible. Patients must apply for a regular medical visa through the Indian mission or its authorised visa application centre, which takes longer than the online route. As with the e-Medical Visa, a letter from the treating hospital in India stating the date or tentative date of admission is required, so the hospital should be arranged first. Accompanying family members apply for a medical attendant visa under the same route. Plan for a longer lead time than an e-Visa applicant would need.

What you will need
- Completed visa application submitted to the Indian mission or its authorised application centre
- Passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, with two blank pages
- Recent passport-style photographs to the mission specification
- Letter from the treating hospital in India, on its letterhead, stating the date or tentative date of admission
- Supporting medical records and the referring doctor's letter
- Proof of funds and proof of onward or return travel
