Visa guidance for Maldives passport holders
No visa is required
Citizens of the Maldives do not require a visa for ordinary travel to India.
Under long-standing bilateral arrangements, citizens of the Maldives travel to India without a visa. Carry a valid passport or the accepted national identity document. Even without a visa requirement, arrange the hospital admission in advance so that treatment dates, estimates and any required documentation are settled before travel. Confirm the current position before travelling, as arrangements can change.
Checked against the Government of India e-Visa portal on 22 September 2026. Visa rules change, so confirm before you book travel.
